Accessibility

This page explains how GetMySAR aims to make getmysar.com accessible, what support is available if you have difficulty using the site, and how to report accessibility issues.

Last updated: 19 March 2026

1. Our commitment

GetMySAR is committed to making getmysar.com as accessible and easy to use as possible.

We want people to be able to understand our content, complete our forms and use our service regardless of device, browser or assistive technology.

Accessibility is an ongoing process for us, and we aim to keep improving the usability of the site over time.

2. About this page

This page explains:

  • how we aim to support accessibility on our website;
  • what accessibility features we currently use;
  • how you can get help if you have difficulty using the site; and
  • how to report an accessibility problem to us.

3. How accessible the site is

We aim to make our website accessible to as many people as possible.

The site is designed to support:

  • keyboard navigation;
  • screen readers and other assistive technologies;
  • recent versions of major browsers;
  • mobile and responsive use across different screen sizes; and
  • browser zoom up to 200% without loss of core content or function.

We have carried out responsive and mobile testing, but we have not yet completed a formal independent accessibility audit.

4. Accessibility features we use

We aim to support accessibility through features such as:

  • clear page structure and semantic headings;
  • labelled form inputs;
  • visible keyboard focus styles;
  • error summaries and validation messaging where relevant;
  • alt text for meaningful images;
  • responsive layouts for mobile and tablet devices;
  • colour contrast designed for readability; and
  • skip links to help keyboard and screen reader users navigate.

Our website includes form pages, legal pages, payment checkout, file upload fields, signature input, email confirmations and multi-step form journeys. We aim to make these features usable and understandable for a wide range of users.

5. Known limitations

We are not currently aware of any specific accessibility issues on the site.

However, because we have not yet completed formal accessibility testing across all pages, devices, browsers and assistive technology combinations, you may still encounter barriers.

Some parts of the user journey may also involve third-party services, such as payment processing, which may have their own accessibility features and limitations.

If you find a problem, please tell us and we will do our best to fix it or provide another way to access the service.

6. Help and alternative support

If you have difficulty using the website or completing the online SAR form, we can provide help.

You can contact us for:

  • support by email;
  • assisted completion through live chat; and
  • alternative formats on request where reasonably possible.

Our service can be completed entirely online, but if you experience an accessibility barrier, please use our contact form and we will try to help you complete the process another way where we can.

7. Children, plain English and extra help

Some Subject Access Requests may be made by or for children, or by someone acting on behalf of another person.

We aim to use plain English where possible so our content and forms are easier to understand.

If you are using the service for a child, helping someone else make a request, or need additional support to understand or complete the process, please use our contact form and ask for help.

8. Reporting an accessibility problem

If you find an accessibility issue on our website, or if you need information in a different format, please contact us:

  • through our contact form
  • through live chat where available; or
  • by another accessible method if needed on request.

Please include as much detail as you can, such as the page you were using, what you were trying to do and the problem you experienced.

We aim to respond to accessibility queries within 2 working days.

9. Ongoing improvements

We review accessibility as part of ongoing website development and improvement.

This may include reviewing:

  • form usability and validation;
  • keyboard access and focus management;
  • screen reader compatibility;
  • mobile responsiveness;
  • readability and colour contrast; and
  • feedback provided by users.

We have not yet carried out formal accessibility testing against a specific WCAG standard, but we intend to keep improving accessibility as the service develops.
